Cupid

"And baby you know my hands are dirty...

Like a cold wind
He blew right through my life
and was gone again
As thousands of women
wait in line
Wearing white dresses
with broken hearts
The mystery
The thrill
The captivating smile
That silent still
His eyes
So gentle
yet so painful
His hands
So mighty
yet so weak
His voice
So beautiful
yet so severe
The love song that never ends
As the teardrops continually fall
and he crawls back again
Listen closely
and you will hear
The arrow
that pierced my heart.

'Tis love at its finest.

...but I wanted to be your Valentine" ~Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi ~ I'll be there for you

"I pray to God
you'll give me one more chance, girl
I'll be there for you
These five words, I swear to you
When you breathe
I wanna be the air for you
I'll be there for you
I'd live and I'd die for you
I'd steal the sun from the sky for you
Words can't say what love can do
I'll be there for you"

Reading this blog I was strongly reminded of another song, one of my favorite bands - Anberlin - has this thing with love and faith and hope and god and all that. And they have this song where they sing "I want to be your last first kiss" (cp. Bon Jovi's "I wanted to be your Valentine").

We may not be able to unravel how love and pain (or longing) are intertwined and good for us - it will always require some faith too. And sometimes, even a faith that feels like jumping into a big black hole - but somehow, when love is around, we know we are always at risk. But so was Jesus. He never protected himself from others. Love was worth all the pain. And this is the thing that attracts me to Jesus (even while I don't really buy into the theology - to me he feels like divine just because he was DOING radical love, not just talking about it).

Yeah, I have been in farfallaland again and I can feel it ;) I think I will be able to dream myself to sleep tonight - with a tickling feeling in my mind, because we - the many of us - share so much in all this - our hope, that in the end, love will win. Love being: giving love. To receive, we have to give.

Blessings, farfalla girl.

@jcm manuel: AMEN and AMEN! You made me CRY. Yes, Jesus IS love and love IS sacrifice. He gave Himself (the ULTIMATE sacrifice), for LOVE.

I love these lyrics, from the song you shared...

"I wanna break every clock
The hands of time could never move again
We could stay in this moment (stay in this moment)
For the rest of our lives"

Thank you so much, for your BEAUTIFUL words and for sharing your HEART. And YES, in the end... love WILL win.

Hope you sleep well and DREAM. ;)

Crying is good - if it's good crying;) -- I didn't even notice the beauty of the words you quote from the Anberlin song... I often fail to see the poetry in all things. But yeah... "I wanna break every clock", it's dawning on me. Let us turn the moment into eternity, let us pull eternity into our moments. Let us pull love into our imperfect lives. It's great that you single out that part from the song.

One of the hardest things to do for me is to let my good memories and thoughts reign over the bad ones. And the only way I can do this is through imagination. A weak spot in my life - but sometimes I think this is going better every day. One day at a time.

Thanks for sharing your dreams, as always.

AMEN!!! Yes, one day at a time... step by step, in rhythm with Heaven.

Imagination is good!!! As children we lived out of our dreams and imagination. We didn't have a past, therefore, we were born DREAMERS. We BELIEVED, that all things were possible, and that we could become whatever we DREAMED. We had a MIRACLE mindset.

As we get older we tend to live off of our past and out our circumstances. We focus on our failures and our pain, instead of dreaming and imagining.

Hmm, something to SPONGE on...

Maybe, this is why Jesus said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven."

If we don't IMAGINE and DREAM (like kids), we can't SEE the Kingdom. We can't enter, because we won't BELIEVE and we won't have any FAITH.

And YES, "let us pull eternity into our moments, let us pull love into our imperfect lives."

Thank you for your BEAUTIFUL words and comments. ;)

I would love to believe but life denies me the faith in Love. As many minds that many types of love and none of the nature of love I believe in!!

...or rather the kind of love i would like to see and so believe in

As always, your poetry is heart-felt and beautiful. So glad to have some extra time to catch up on commenting. :)

White dresses and broken hearts...
The line of those wishing and waiting for the same man who God has already spoken for, on behalf of someone so special! And yet you are there with your tears, cold wind present, heart open, yet pierced. Quite the word picture. It is a picture of forgiveness and unrelinquishing love; unadorned by all the things others try to bring to the table that disguise motives of hearts untoward or unworthy of true love.
God is who brings unconditional love into our hearts and lives, and He alone is perfect at giving it, but you have learned well, in spite of and perhaps due to what has occurred in your life and heart. I applaud you, dear friend, for holding on to what God has shown you and awaiting the vision to become a reality.

Much love, always!
